Used Police trade in Gen 2 G19

I recently bought a Gen 2 19(I don't like the finger grooves on compact models).I got a good deal on it.It came with the NY2 trigger spring and the pull measured at 9.3#.No wonder the rear sight was pushed all the way to the right.lol.I replaced the springs with a comp. spring kit and replaced the connector with a V4 race connector and did a .25 trigger job on it.The trigger pull now measures 3.7#.If I decide to carry it I'll put stock springs(not NY) and a stock - or dot connector back in it.
I also got to get the rest of the adhesive off the frame from where they had grip tape on it.Any suggestions on how to do that?

The slide shows a lot of holster wear(although the internals look newer than my Gen 4 G17's),so i thought I'd try something I always wanted to do.I polished it to a mirror finish.I figured if I didn't like it,I'd just have it Cerakoted.Turns out I like it though. What do you guys think?
Now I'm just waiting on my Warren Tactical sights to arrive and I'll put it back together.

I like the looks of the slide and I would suggest using Goo-B-Gone to get the glue from the grip tape that was on it (try it on a small portion first to make sure it doesent hurt the polymer of course).

What did you use to polish the slide?

    Thanks.
I first wet sanded with 600 grit sandpaper. Then I wet sanded with 800 grit until I could no longer see the scratches from the 600 grit. Then I wet sanded with 1000 grit until I coul no longer see the scratches from the 800 grit.......all the way up to 2000 grit. then I polished with Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish.

Nice job, I haven't seen anyone polish the slide before. As far as the glue goes; be careful. Anything that will take the glue off might have an effect on the polymer since both are petroleum based. Start with something simple like "goof-off" and a scrubby pad on an area that you will not see and test it and then move one from there. Remember the faster it works the harder it will be on the frame so slow might be a good thing
