First time Glock owner here: finally acknowledged the need for the Glock and ordered a G19 Gen 4 a couple days ago.

My question is will it be a USA or Austrian? I kinda want it to be Austrian but being a pro-USA guy like the idea of it being USA with those nice proofs all over it.

From what I read it looks like I can expect a Georgia export (and that's fine with me).

They all are. I have 31 Glock firearms, and they all say Smyrna, GA. On them, some say "Austria" on the slide, and a few say U.S.A. on the slide.

By that do you mean it could be either Austria or Georgia or Georgia with Austria stamped on it?

They are marked appropriate to where they are made. I'm not 100% positive, but i think some are made in the USA because Austria has some pretty tight export restrictions. It is just Glock opening more territory. From what i've read, the pistols are virtually the same and completely interchangeable.

    All of my GEN four were made in Austria. I have a 20, 23, a 27 and a 19.

It seems like it's just luck of the draw.

I have a gen 4 17 made in USA and my 43 is as well. But odds-wise your much more likely to get a gun marked Austria.
If you have to tell everyone how _______ you are, your probably not that _______

    Just got it: most confusing.

The slide is marked Austria and the Lower is marked Georgia, USA.

    Can anyone explain that?

Austria is the mother country and Georgia is the US arm of the co so they can sell in the usa. some of the guns are marked USA because the parts were made here because the demand was so high the mother co couldn't keep up

Smyrna, GA. Is just the American "mother ship" that imports it. Even my Gen3 Glock 36 is like that. They all will be. That's just where the importer in the US is.
