How many are new gun owners

I bought my first gun about 2 months ago and joined this group. I've notice many new members and some who have said they are first time gun owners. So, more out of curiosity than anything else, who bought his/her first gun:

Within the last 3 months?
Within the last year?
Since Obama was elected?

Yup, joined the forum yesterday and bought first handgun (G17) a few days ago as well as my first rifle a few weeks ago. For me Jumping into the gun game has nothing to do with Obama or any of the recent shootings. I don't particularly buy into any of the political Bull around guns, probably because I'm studying criminal justice and political science. I have just always been interested in shooting ever since I got my first pellet gun as a kid, and now finally I have the money to jump on in.

Picked up my first handgun G26 Gen 4 since the military in 83, back then it was the old 45s. Been wanting to do it for a while but never got around to it. I have to admit that all of the shootings by the wackos and all of the government talk made my decision for me. I plan on adding more and was thinking either a 40 or 45.

When i turned 21 I picked up my first handgun. You cant have just 1! Im 31 now and still adding.

I had owned rifles and shotguns throughout my adult life but never a handgun until my son turned 21 last January and we got our CCP's and bought our first pistols together. I really only did it as a father-son thing. In my almost 56 years I've never once had an occasion to use a firearm in defense but what the heck -- CC'ing's fun! And we love going to the range and shooting our arsenal. I have a pretty good supply of ammo now but I'm hording it (less time at range) until the shortages and gouging let up some.
