I shot 100 rds of Remington LE 9mm +P+ out of a Lone Wolf conversion barrel out of my G23. It was fun! I should have saved one of the 50 rd boxes. I got the ammo for a good price at a gun show and like I said it was FUN! Good stuff!

    I carry HST 230 +P...

I carry +P so I can get the ideal 830+ fps from the 3.78" barrel of my Glock 36...yes it barks quite loudly, and bucks a bit too...but I have always loaded, carried, shot, and practiced with hot 230 grain 45acp ammo.

The question is +P better, from a purely ballistics standpoint, is simple matter of physics...yes, +P is more powerful...whether or not it is better for you depends on you.

I carry what the local agencies carry in my ccw gun.

I highly recommend the Corbon 9mm 115gr JHP +p. I have chronographed it at 1350 FPS out of my G19. 1400 FPS out of my G17.

Only use +p for HD and ccw.
Hollow point bonded by reputable mfgr with less than 10” penetration.

    +P+ sounds too serious.

OK, that is about all 147 grain is good for though, now those 115 or 124 grain bullets are a different matter. You can do something with that.

That is a non technical term that loosely means, extra-extra powder; it sounds dangerous, but it is only a few grains of powder. But it sure makes a big difference, if you have to shoot a punk. It will knock 'em flat.

    Yeah, that too.

As far as wear, weren't Glocks designed for NATO ammo, which is basically +P?
Faster is better, for most bullets, that is the reason that a .357 Magnum is so much better than a .38 Special.

Yeah, a lot of people read +P+ and think OMG, that is nuts! But it is not, it makes a lot of sense; and they have the best knock down records.

Undeniably true, bigger tends to be better; but a 9mm Cor Bon is a pretty good manstopper.

That is what I have in my .45 right now 230 FMJ, they have a record for stopping thugs, that far exceeds, what they look like on paper.

    A 10mm is a great gun.

Subjectiveness only goes so far, and +P is better no matter who you are. And it is a little more complex that simple physics, such as, if the guy is full of opium, he will be hard to stop.
That was a problem during Vietnam, the NVA would get high on it, and would sustain damage that was fatal. But they would not stop, until they bled out, and they would kill American troops until they did bleed out.

Ah Jeez now I have to do math. Well Ok then, I came up with 465 foot pounds of ME; and that is pretty good.

Speer makes those kind of bullets, they can be bought in bulk packs.

It isn't, it is just what you need for a pit bull, or a gang.
