    Crossbreed style holster

Hello, a friend recently lent a custom made holster he made to me for my Glock 19 and it left me with a few questions. My ultimate goal is to determine whether or not the issues I am having are representative of all hybrid/IWB holsters and whether I should look into a Crossbreed.

    1) Smooth backing vs. rough backing?

Will the smooth backing on this create a comfort issue? I could imagine that a rough backing would help hold it up where as a smooth backing may slide around. Any experience out there from crossbreed users? I'm using a strong gun belt right now, but it feels as if it is sagging unless the belt is incredibly tight.

    2) Thick leather vs. thinner leather?

The leather seems pretty thick and could prevent conformity, but I have heard that the thicker leather prevents it from absorbing too much moisture and softening.

    3) Muzzle Coverage?

Does the open muzzle coverage create holes in your pants? It would seem that the open muzzle coverage could cause some issues with pants.

Here is my Crossbreed. I have no issues with the gun causing holes. I do have an issue of the clips wearing holes. I guess I could clean up the edges and cure the problem but just never thought to.
The thin rough leather absorbs moisture I would imagine the thicker shiny leather would not.Click image for larger version.

I love wearing my Crossbred holsters and the homemade ones I use as my EDC. I have since made my own version of it. Grant it, it is not the same look on the kydex but it has the same retention and feel. The only other holster that I ever use is the Jackass by Galco and that ones only for the winter use. I have tried many other types of holsters hands down Crossbred its the best.
