Please recommend ammo to break in a new G19

    Hello,

On Tuesday I will be taking home my new (and first) G19. I was told by someone at a range that I want to use a certain kind of ammo in the beginning to break in a new gun. I can't recall what he suggested - but I do know it was not the low weight range ammo. I plan to eventually use 124 grain JHP ammo with it for home defense. Could someone tell me what specific ammo I should use at first? Also, is there anything else I should do with a new gun to break it in the proper way?

    Thanks!
    Chip

Any ammo will do but WWB is reasonable and has the power to cycle the gun with enough force to eject shells and chamber a new round

I always shot what ever I had at the time. WWB works well.

I've never had a FTL or FTE with Federal American Eagle FMJ Range rounds or with Remington Golden Saber JHP defense rounds. Of course, like everyone is telling you, currently you have to take what you can get. If you get a FTL/FTE, or have to clean the weapon more often, just clear it, clean it, and continue.
