Open carry at the Hendersonville, NC Apple festival

After church services, my wife wanted to ride down to Hendersonville for the Apple festival NC Apple Festival. Wasn't there a minute or so and I notice two guys carrying openly. I interrupt one guy and ask if he is a cop, or if he has been harassed by the local PD, which was out in force. No, Hendersonville city ordinance allows it and it's not being carried in an intimidating manner, they were cool with it....so guess who had to go retrieve their 26 from the car. I truthfully expected to get stared at, didn't happen. Stopped and had the 5 year old's picture taken on the PD Harley, only reaction from Either Henderson Co. sheriff or HPD officers were if it was a 26 or 27 ( they carry 17's ) I figured with all the New Joisy, New York and Commienetticut plates I had seen someone would have ran and told the cops that a madman was packing heat. Spent roughly two hours walking around without incident.

Ain't it great? We've got Constitutional Carry down here in Arizona and nobody even looks twice at OCers.

I have yet to turn in my paperwork. NC just passed new laws allowing CC'ing in places that serve alcohol. Really more places you couldn't carry than where you can. NC is also an open carry state, and local ordinances must be in place for the prohibition of OC. Just haven't thought about it since I took my course.

really, there might be a time limit on how long you can wait after the class but still it would benefit you if something were to happen legally wise

BSG makes a very good point. I CC everywhere I possibly can. Ohio finally passed that you can carry in bars, so long as you're not drinking. I find myself not having a beer when we go out to eat, just so I can carry. I couldn't imagine needing my pistol.....and it's in the truck!

we have a 51% here in texas; any place that sales are 51% of revenue you can't carry in but under that you can and you can have a beer BUT not be intoxicated.

Certificate is good for 5 years. There was such a bum rush at the Buncombe co. Magistrates office in the last year the wait time went from 3 months to having make an appointment to turn in the paperwork. http://www.buncombecounty.org/Govern...rryPermit.aspx. Since Buncombe co. require letters from the two closest Psych hospitals they have also been swamped also. Was waiting for things to calm down. If I lived in neighboring Madison co.,, my wait time would be about two weeks

Out here they look at you funny if you don't carry a gun. I guess that's why we don't have a crime rate. The news paper only comes out here twice a week and other than a few DUI's you never see anything going on. I wouldn't want it any other way.
