Update , sorry took so long have not had a chance to shoot my 36 till today found the problem , grip was too low compared to my colt 1911 gun was rocking in the web of my hand causing it to shoot high , i did adjust the rear sight for left shooting and groups got even tighter with a higher grip. thanks everyone for the help.

Wow! That simple huh? Did your experience shooting the 1911 really seem to through you off that much? Wish I had a good reason like that but normally I shoot Glocks the most. So, maybe my next range visit will include checking the positioning of my hand since the 23 and 36 are different sizes. Thanks for the follow-up.

The grip safety and rear tang extends back deep into the web of hand and keeps the 1911 from recoiling up, if i am not careful when i grab the glock there is a slight gap between the web of my hand and the gun.
