    G30 Recoil Spring

I just got my G30, and while doing the safety checks as per the manual I noticed the Recoil spring had slipped out of the "half moon" indent on the barrel. It is consistently riding on the step below that section. Has any one encountered this with a 30? Is it normal? I'm a little confused. I haven't shot the gun yet just doing the pre-fire safety checks. Racked the slide about 6 to 10 times checking trigger reset.

It is riding where it is supposed to be. The half moon is for assembly when you rack the slide it moves.

Thanks for the reply. You are absolutely right I just got off the phone with Doug at Glock. Great guy, answered that question as well as a few others. Although this isn't my first pistol, it's my first Glock. He told me not only is it normal for that to happen, on some models the spring comes all the way off and sits in the frame. In all the other autos I have the spring stays in the "half moon" lug of the barrel. I learned a few things today. Great guys over there at Glock, more than willing to help and talk about the guns. By the ay I agree with your quote about the dog. I know that feeling first hand!

After talking to them today I can see why. Like I said I had a couple of dumb questions, since the Glock is different from my other pistols. They were friendly and informative. Made me feel not so dumb.
