Looking for a SS9

It seems most guys like the Shield over the XDs9. I've shot the Shield several times and like it, but am also intrigued by the Springfield. So why so much more love for the Shield vs the XDs?

I had an XDS briefly and it is a good gun. But the Shield is lighter, doesnt have the weird 1911 grip safety, is made in the U.S., and its $200 cheaper.

I see Springfield now has an "Essentials" package that doesn't have the holsters at a lower price.

As already noted, the Shield is cheaper. It's a great gun for the money. I picked up a Shield in .40 (no safety version) for $383 new out the door, and really like it. I considered the XDS .45 but I could get the Shield $200 cheaper with blue label pricing...which wasn't available with the XDS at the dealer I was utilizing. I also was turned off by the grip safety on the XDS. Not necessarily a deal breaker on it's own, but when you factored in the cheaper price of the Shield, it was a no brainer.

Kahr cm9 is a good gun.

The xds9 is a really good good gun, but like all Springfields its just too heavy. The shield is the better option of the 2 when everything is considered yes the cm9 is a good gun but it's just to small if ur looking for a pocket carry option the cm9 fits the bill.

what is an SS9? SS stands for stainless steel and combat guns as a rule don't come shinny
