After seeing what Remington did to Marlin...I wouldn't touch a Remington.

Remington 700 used to be the rifle to have...now plan on putting several hundred dollars (before optics) into it to make it shootable. The stock is junk and action needs a polish.

They've been living on a reputation that they weren't living up to for years.

I have an early Remlin 336 that is excellent. Remington didn't wait long to turn the Marlin 336 into a piece of crap though.

Concur. I wanted to buy my son a marlin model 60 (22 semi auto) like I had for my first rifle, the new ones are pot metal junk. I spent the same money and got a like new one from the 80s...life is good.

Sounds like Colt...trying to make it on reputation alone...no innovation, QA, or price reduction on crap. They are teetering on bankruptcy (again)

    Trump will fix everything
