Bill,
I bought a Wilson Combat 1911 in 9mm after coming back from a high-speed CQC course given at Defensive Firearms Training. Most of the guys I was shooting with at the time were using them. I was like one of the only Glock guys. I left there a little jealous due to a few gun-fighting scenarios that required lighting-fast rapid fire. Hands down @ 3ft. of less just flat out pulling the trigger as fast as you can imagine, I could not get off the rounds as fast as the 1911 guys. I love my Glock more, however, it is simply structural trigger architecture at that point. Well this is all IMHO. At anyrate, I went out and bought a Wilson's 9mm Protector model 1911.
I've been very pleased with it. It works flawlessly. I bought it used on GunBroker.com for $1,400.00 or thereabouts.
