Our local PD has been carrying them for a while. County sheriff is still Glock'n, though.

I think it's all about costs. Glock was all but giving them away in the 90s; S&W is probably doing the same thing now.

most likely it is about cost. however i have both and there is so little difference between the two. i choose to carry the glock for reasons probably unique to me: lightweight, easy concealment, and the uline sights

The article doesent say if the M&Ps replaced Glocks. I have a friend that works for the Federal Police at the Federal Mint here in Fort Worth, he said they switched last year to the M&P.

Armored truck guys around here started switching to M&P's a couple of years ago, they still had revolvers up to that point.

I had a 3 M&P's since 2007, I liked them better than Glocks actually (mainly because of the grip), then when Gen4 models came out I ended up selling them along with older Glocks.
