Looking to decrease recoil of my gen 4 G17. I have been looking at tungsten rods at glockstore.com, but they all have mixed reviews. Any reputable brands? Looking to put good parts in my gun so price is not a concern.

My advice is to leave the guide rod and spring as it came with the handgun if your G17 is operating properly. You have the lowest recoiling Glock.

It is what it is, the gen 4's have a duel recoil spring for just that reason; to reduce felt recoil. If you change the spring for a lighter or heavier one the gun could short cycle and have FTF issues

good advice here.

I'd suggest leaving the spring as is.

have you tried heavier ammo? 147 gr seems a bit less snappy to me.

The recoil in that firearm is nothing compared to the .40 calibers. I wouldn't change the spring at all because you might create an issue with an otherwise perfect gun.
