I own a Glock 21C. I bought some Federal 45cal. 230 grain fmj ammo recently that has a disclaimer on it, "do not use in firearms with ported barrels or ported recoil compensators." It reports muzzle velocity of 890 fps. The bullets appear to be copper cased, and casing is brass. This is the first disclaimer of this type I have seen on a box of ammo. What might be the deal here? Not enough power/velocity to clear the barrel after passing the ports? Copper fouling in the ports? A company "CYA" due to some past accident involving this ammo and a ported barrel?
I also have a question concerning a barrel for this firearm. Will a non-ported barrel perform safely in this pistol with ported slide?
TIA for any responces, Bill

I have no idea why you can't shoot any kind of ammo in a ported gun that is a first for me. Try and email the co they (most) will return an answer to your question. For the second question; yes a regular aftermarket barrel will work just fine
