Gen 4 g17 or 22

Hi everyone, Im new to the site and would like to ask if the g17 is a good gun of choice? I'm from Canada where we cant purchase the glock 19 and 23 all subcompact guns due to the barrel length. I'm going to join a range shortly and plan on buying my first glock, I no the g17 is probably cheaper to shoot but I like the fact of a bigger caliber gun with a bigger bang which would be the g22. Can you guys give some advice it would be greatly appreciated. G17 or g22 I allso plan on getting in to compitition shooting!

I'd try a G34 or G17 for competition. They are very popular for that purpose. I'd go with a gen 3, but they've got the gen 4 issues pretty much worked out with the new recoil spring.

You can get G19 or 23 but with longer aftermarket barrel. Questar sell them but it'll cost you $1000+tax. If you're interested in IPSC 9mm is the way to go for Production. Having said that I love my gen4 G22 - great gun and fun to shoot.
