I have just added a LaserMax guiderod sight to my glock. My first time to the range and the gun jammed several times. The installation was done correctly. Has anyone had a similar issue?

As already stated, put the original gudie rod/spring back in your gun. If problem does not repeat, contact Laser MAx for for help in solving the issue. And no, I have not heard of this issue before.

i was told that glocks were notorious for jams when using reloads. it works well with "virgin full metal bullets"...anyway, i tried it for myself earlier. i tried using teflon reloads and my stock glock19 jammed almost every shot. and when i went back to using my usual full metal virgin bullets, it started jamming as well. so i had to waste almost an hour cleaning my gun thoroughly after using them stupid reloads. i tried using my full metal virgin bullets again after cleaning my glock and no more malfunctions occured. i'd rather not use reloads again.

i guess you should experiment with different ammo just to be sure. you wouldnt want your gun to jam when using it for SD.

now my question is, how does hollow point bullets work with stock glock19s? are there any horror stories about it? i guess my best bet is to try it out myself out on the range and see what happens...it's kinda expensive though.

A Glock 19 will work just fine with hollow points. Stick with brand name makers like CorBon, Hornaday, Remington, etc and you will be fine. As far as reloads are concerned, the results will only as good as the cartridge. Meaning, using good brass, quality bullets and primers and loading the correct amount of powder will net a "boom" when the trigger is pulled. Just make sure you are not using lead bullets in your reloads. If you want to shoot lead re-loads, you will need to change barrels.
