Glock 23 Imported from Austria???

My brother and I where at our local shooting range recently and the Glock representative for the northwest was there doing free tune ups on all Glocks.
After he replaced my brother's Glock 23 recoil spring assembly, he told us that this 23 was imported from Austria during the months before President
Obama took over the presidency. Apparently the Glock factory in America ran out of pistols due to the massive amounts of firearms purchased, and they
imported about a thousand from Austria. It has marks on both the slide and frame of the pistol that the Glock rep said meant that it was test fired in
Austria. He said that these where somewhat of a collectors item.

It is in perfect condition, (no holster wear, or damage internal or external) with under 1,500 rounds through it.

Does anybody have an idea as to what the value of this Glock 23 might be?

If so is anybody interested or know of a place where he can sell it?

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You were told the truth on all counts.

It's worth maybe $50-$100 more depending on the market, but I'd expect the lower end of that range.

I've bought, sold and traded using armslist.com multiple times and recommend it.
Any pics of the marks on the slide and frames or can you explain what they look like ?? Id be intrested in looking at my Gen4 23 and see if by chance it was one LOL..
Probably worth more to a collector but to the average gun owner I doubt it would make a differance.

Welcome...
Just out of curiosity, what was wrong with the recoil spring assembly...?
Duh...Just realized this thread is a little older...Being as we're here, I'm curious...Have any of you bought a G23 (new) that had a recoil spring that looked to have about 2,000 rds through it? I did a couple of years ago, and that spring looked used and abused...In checking with CS at Glock, a tech told me that he had just fielded another complaint like this, but the problem didn't seem to be wide spread...He sent me a new one real quick...They're pretty good folks to deal with.
Weird. Never seen that, but I'm glad they took care of it for you.
Good luck on the sale.
