Is there an possible way to switch parts and turn my model 38 into a .40 instead of the .45gap?

Not that I am aware of. I just checked the Lone Wolf for available conversion barrels and did not see one available for .45GAP to 40S&W. I would suggest you contact LW directly for further confirmation. I posted link for you.
