Hi all,

I have been carrying concealed for 3 years now. My EDC has typically been Kahrs. I just picked up my first Glock (G19) and I have always read that of all handguns, Glocks have the most ADs. Is this true? I want to be comfortable changing my EDC to the Glock and my general rule is to always keep my booger picker outside of the trigger guard until ready to fire. If I continue with this golden rule, I shouldn't have to worry, right? Also, from a safety perspective, is there anything else that you Glock experts think that I should be aware of? Thanks

That’s about right IF you don't touch the trigger they don't go off and follow the rule of safe gun handling and you'll be fine. One thing you might want to do is get some night sights just for a better sight picture at low or no light situations. This is the video that sold me on the safety issues but do practice and develop muscle memory and remember draw fast holster slow

Welcome aboard, PaseMkr...Nothing magic, mystical, or more dangerous about a Glock...treat it like a revolver...if you don't want it to fire, keep your finger off of the trigger. As with A N Y firearm, practice, practice practice...get to know it, as with any other firearm. Take care of it, and it will take care of you... You made a great choice, but then again, any Glock is a great choice...glad you're here....One other word that I would add...there are many modifications that can be performed on Glocks, but it is one pistol that will run, and run right, new out of the box. A stock Glock will Rock... Happy Glocking... :D

Welcome from Alabama! You already sound very "safe minded", so keep that up and you will be fine. Lots of range trips with different types of ammo would help too. I'm sure you probably already know that too! You will love your Glock and for some reason it always seems to lead to another and that trend might keep up for a while! :)

Those are absolutely horrible in looks! But, funny enough, I heard they are reliable!

Welcome PaseMkr .... You already got some good advice, so all I can add to this is a little G23 porn.
I recently had one of mine done with a duracoat finish.
