Anyone have experience with Hornady TAP FPD .40 180 grain for home and personal protection? I currently keep my "best friend" loaded with this ammo. Fired a few rounds at the range and found it to be very accurate and dependable. I always shoot whatever is the least expensive for practice at the range, but only fire a few of the Hornady rounds to "get the feel" of the ammo that I stay loaded with for CCW. If anyone has a better recommendation, I would be glad to try them. To me, price is no object when it comes to personal protection. Thanks all!

Hornady and Gold Dots are both very good bullets, use whichever one your gun shoots best. My guns shoot Hornady a bit more accurately. Smaller groups. But my EDC 17 is loaded with Gold Dots right now. Either one is fine in my experience. Hornady XTPs will penetrate better and hold together better than either of the other 2 but expand a bit less. Everything is a comprimise.

I have since bought Gold Dots. My 23 loves them. So do I! :)
