Just got my first Glock. I'd been looking at compact .380s and 9s to take camping in the piney woods where there be bear and wolves. Wanted something a bit more comforting than my old Colt .38 Detective Special so went to the candy store where I looked at Rugers and Kahrs and Sigs, oh my! Then I went to the Glock case. The Baby Glocks fit just right, yet barely small enough to conceal compared to the Karhs (but what do I know yet?). The salesman took his time with me and answered my questions, and pretty well convinced me the more power of the .40 might make a difference some day. I filed for the purchase permit and agonized over the 26 or 27 and almost thought I'd end up with both until I found that I can use a Lone Wolf Distributors - Products - Conversion 9mm barrel and magazines in the 27! Clincher!!! I got the permit Friday and the local stores didn't have the Gen4 27 in stock. Saturday I went to Cabela's and came home with my new Baby Glock (or is that for the 9 exclusively?). I'll be taking the class soon for carry permit then sizing up IWB holsters and a shoulder rig for lefty draw while riding motorcycle. I'll really make good use of the 9mm barrel and mags, I want to be a good shot with either hand, and expect lots of practice. I joined up here to learn more about night sights and perhaps a tactical light and or laser, holsters and all. So thanks in advance for all you share, I'll be soaking it up.
I like the simplicity of the Glock, it's easier to operate than my ancient HiStandard .22, and lots more compact. I'll take it to the range tomorrow and begin to get familiar with it. See you around!
