For us VA residents is nice to know we have a good AG who supports 2A, here are his latest opinions backed up by the latest statutes passed by the General Assembly

So he's saying everyone who can own a handgun can carry a loaded one in the car, but it has to be in a 'container' of some sort?

More on the lines of... anyone who can legally possess a firearm and is NOT a CHP holder cannot be charged with carrying a concealed weapon if the weapon is in a secured compartment of their vehicle or boat

Ah...that makes sense. I know auto-carry gets weird in some places - must be concealed, can't be concealed, must be out-of-reach, etc.

Good to have that clarification for VA.
