Night Sight Recommendations

I Wanted to get some feed back from on anyone who has compared Meprolight True Dot and TruGlo. I have Trijicon and Meprolight True Dot on my guns but no TruGlo. I just bought a G27 Gen4 with white block factory sights. I don't see a huge difference between the Mepro and Trijicon. What's everyone using to gain the most light?

I use to love the trijicons, but now that my eyes are getting older, I switched to the TruGlo TFO's about 4 or 5 years ago and Love them. The fiber optic is so bright during daylight, and then the tritium lights up the fiber optics at night.

All my Xd's, Xdm's, and glocks have the TruGlo TFO's on them. My wife and son even have them on their glocks as well.

It is all personal preference though, and this is only my opinion.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Oldhick. It's so hard to tell the truth from the product sites because they Photoshop everything to look better. I was thinking of trying the TFO's but I am afraid they will look too big on the G27. Does anyone have any pics?
I like the new Trijicon HD's. Ordered some for my G17, and am very pleased with them. My other Glocks wear either Trijcon 3-dot traditional sights, or XS 24/7 Big Dots..but overall the HD Trijis are a better choice; I prefer the U-Notch with the bright front dot over the lollypop-type XS sights.

I am not, however, a fan of TFO's. My buddy's G22 puked the front tube twice--the second (and final) time after performing the superglue "fix"--and we spent close to an hour looking for that tube in the grass. Since this is a known issue with TFO's, there's no way that I would consider them on any handgun that I would ever use for self defense.

I have heard that more than once. That's why I am hesitant on the TFO's
I've had TFO's on my Sig 226 for a little over 2 yrs now with ot any complaints I'm 58 an with my aging eyes I can honestly say there the best sights I have ever put on any of my handguns, knock on wood they havent fallen off like som people have had problems with there bright in daylight and easy to see and aquire at night if I wasn't planning on going wth a red dot system in the near future on my glock its what I would get for my glock, but lke othes have said it's all personal preference.Like any product ther's always some bad apples in the bunch, just the nature of the beast when you have mass production.

Plus 1, will not look to big, outside in the sun (IDPA) those 3 green dots are so bright, as long as you bring the pistol up to eye level, you can see them, big time.

TruGlo Red Dot 5MOA 2x42 Blk is very good and works without defects.
I like the Trijicon HD's, a bit pricey though.
I installed Meprolight True Dot on my Glock 36. Love it, my old eyes can't miss them in low to no light. Not to sure of the glow concept. I'm worried that they might give away the gun to others. With my True Dot, the bad guy would have to be behind me.
I like the stock Glock night sight and have them on 3 of my beloved Glocks. I have Mep's on a non-Glock pistol and have no problem with them. Make sure that whatever one you decide on, get the same size as the stock sight.
I have TFO on my Springfield XD45 4" Service model. I also have Mepro on my SigP226 Full Custom, and on my stock CZ75B SS Limited Edition, I can say there is a definite difference in the tritium glow coming off the Mepro night sights over the TFO. The Mepro are much much brighter and sharper. Something I always though odd about the front sight TFO, it is definitely brighter in the day, because of the Fiber Optic, but at night the tritium is definitely very subdued. Not sure if it's just my particular TFO front, but my vote is for the Mepro.

I agree. I have the regular Trijicon bright n toughs and I really like them, but next weapon is going to get the HDs. I was going to get those originally, but I could drop the extra 40 bucks.

I am also not a fan of the TFO's. Besides the fact that the tube comes out, I think the sites look to big IMO.
TruGlo TFO's
I've had Trijicon, Meprolight, and TruGlo. I'm now a TruGlo fanatic . My old eyes can pick them up better than anything else I've used.

I had Trijicon g/g on my G27. I got the G36 recently and my Armorer suggested Meps on the rear, and a Trijicon HD for the front. I hesitated until he showed me. A bit extra money but it solved a daytime glare problem for me where sometimes light sources run together. These don't.
+1 on the meprolights
I have troglodyte on my g26 and really like them.
