<<<< Rant on >>>> I can understand why people are using different forms of shipping other than the usps. I ordered 2 mags from my mag guy in MD for my Shield. He always gets them out the next day. Today I check the tracking number and they are out on the truck for delivery. Sounds good right? 3 days, perfect!!!!! But they are out for delivery in Sioux City Iowa, NOT Sioux Falls South Dakota!!!!! This is the 2nd time this has happened in a month with usps. It is not my mag guys fault, he always emails me a copy of the shipping label. The last time this happend my 4 13round G-21 mags ended up in San Diego CA. Hows that for being close to SD!!!! But I guess on the plus side they only missed it by 100 miles this time. Now lets see how long it takes from today to get them!! <<<< Rant off >>>> Dave

I follow the tracking on all my packages and just 2 weeks ago had to chase the mail truck down and advise that my package was "out for delivery" but not left in my mailbox. To which the reply was, "Oh Sorry, here it is".

There is literally no need for them....It is a great program for a socialist/communist country though
the new USPS motto. 'We deliver junk mail because your mail is just too darn important.' Quote from an article

“Total mail volume First-Class in 2010 was 78.2 billion pieces,” he said, while, “Standard Mail volume, [or] Advertising Mail, was 82.5 billion pieces. That comes to 160.7 billion pieces, and that’s very close to what our volume was last year.”

I really like ordering my mags from Greg Cote. He is a home state Maryland man. ( even though I dont live there anylonger, thank goodness!!!) His prices are excellent and his service is 2nd to none. I put no blame with him. most places I have found the 8 round shield mags were 44.95 each plus 11.00 usps shipping. I get the same mags from Greg for 31.95 each and shipping via usps was 5.95. So I could get them else where for a total of 100.90 else where or get them from Greg for 69.85 shipped. I may have to look for someone who ships ups. I dont use the post office much, I have 1 bill I actually have to send in every month and that the house payment, I could pay on line but they charge a 10.00 processing fee. stupid I know. both cars are paid online with Honda, lights and gas paid on line, verizon paid online and directv paid on line. The only reason I buy stamps is for the house payment and they do last quite a while. Dave

I bought a pack of stamps to keep in my wallet 2 or 3 years ago. I still have half of them left. Mainly birthday and Christmas cards is all I send. Everything else is electronic. If I ship something it's by UPS or FEDEX.

I'll sometimes choose an internet retailer based on it using UPS instead of USPS.
Same here. The way I look at it. USPS has never, to my knowledge been shot up by anyone other than their own employees, and yet they want to ban me from my constitutional rights to carry a firearm on their premises to protect myself from them? That is a death sentence waiting to happen.

Yeah, too bad "going postal" doesn't mean getting packages delivered in a timely manner! ;)

I have to agree about USPS! They are terrible and God forbid, you are waiting on medication. (Which mine comes from the VA). Also their tracking system is certainly not the best!

I love the ongoing rant about usps in this thread. My complain about them is that they keep sending junk mails on my mail box. I'm a busy woman and I hate having those waste mails, they are a hassle.
i have a way I deal with junk mail. It is more problems than what is it is worth but i actually save up about 2 months worth and when I go out to breakfast on a saturday morning i take the 2 months of junk mail to the post office and put it right back into their mailbox.

lol...that's funny...if more people did that, they'd be able to stay in business...and even hire new folks to sort recycled junk mail...
