Mine prefers steak with a side of potatoes. Baked or mashed, the 19 doesn't care.

Other than that, it'll shoot about anything. Cheapo blazer, WWB its all the same to my Glock. Premium ammo though, it prefers 115g gold dots.

I keep a good supply of Federal Champion 9 MM FMJ around from Wal-Mart. For self defense I use Hornady Critical Defense, or Speer Gold Dots. The Federal is only $10.47 a box, and it's perfect for paper punching. Bill T.

I have had good luck with just about everything in my G23 from Winchester, Federal and Remington. I have not tried any Russian in .40 yet. I did just pick up a 500 bulk case of Federal 40 S&W HST JHP 180gr for PP round. Looking to throw a few of them down range to see how they perform

Comments about CCI Blazer (9mm) 115gr....is it okay for range use / target practice?
Anyone got experience with this particular ammo?
CCI Blazer or Blazer Brass is fine for range / target use. I prefer the Blazer Brass because it is boxer primed, and fully reloadable. I reload so it is worth the couple of bucks a box more. Brass is the most valuable component in the cartridge, so it only makes sense to acquire as much as you can, however possible. Regular Blazer has Aluminum cases, and is berdan primed. Just so you know in case you live near one. Cabela's is having a sale starting 8/25 to 9/5. They have Sellier & Belliot 9 MM on sale for just $9.95 a box. It is good ammo, and is also brass cased, boxer primed, and fully reloadable. It is also 115 Gr. FMJ. I've shot thousands of rounds of it through my Glocks without a hiccup. Bill T.

9mm Ammo pricing

in case you live near one. Cabela's is having a sale .
Yeah, maybe a couple of miles from me (at most!). And yes, about a month ago they had that sale on S&B - same 115gr FMJ - through their Internet site. I ordered six boxes of it and of course, it got delivered to my local store without any shipping cost. And it shot great thru my new G19 - but what's the deal with that red colour on the primer?
I asked about the Blazers because I'm looking at 'stocking up' a little and Palmetto State Armory has the CCIs for $9.99 (sale) and their shipping cost for a 1,000 rd order is very reasonable. But then I was told about another website which was a little less and I ordered a different brand there. But all that said and done, the Russian ammo is still the cheapest from somebody like Cheaper Than Dirt - which I'm fortunate enough to have one of those not too far away either. And I've shot TulAmmo .380 through an old Sterling Arms auto and I thought it did quite well - haven't tried it on any other calibers I own but you just simply can't beat their price. Some folks say it shoots dirty but I'm not sure that bothers me since I always clean my weapons throughly after I shoot anyway. May have to see how the Glock likes it....:)

Just bought my first handgun and Glock (model 19 - 9mm compact) about a month ago. Took a Glock-focused safety / operations / technique class and put put about 50+ rounds through it without a problem. Just got back from the range today and had about 7 or 8 double feeds using PMC Bronze 115 FMJ. Also shot full box of 100 rounds of Winchester White Box without a hitch. Any similar experience?

Is this a Gen 4? If so, there's a RSA replacement program in place that might fix what ails it.

Ive shot a large variety of rounds through my G23, from the very good to the very cheap. Ive not had a problem with any of them. Id have to say that I prefer the Winchester line of ammo, basically cause its a cleaner shot. The cheap ammo is fun for a day at the range, but always go home and do a good cleaning before the day is out.
